Serving Southern Maryland
Calvert, St. Mary's, Charles, Southern Prince George's & Anne Arundle Counties
This is it. You've made your offer. After all these weeks of searching, those exhausting walk throughs, this is the one. Maybe it's your first home, or your tenth. But whatever number it is, it is probably the biggest investment you are ever going to make. But how can you be sure it won't turn into a nightmare? That's where a home inspection comes in.
Most of us see a house with our hearts rather than our heads. We tend to see the things we like, and get so excited about those that we become blind to the problems. A home inspector doesn't have that emotional attachment. The inspector is able to see the things your heart doesn't let you see. And an inspection can point out things that may seem harmless or unimportant to you, but are signs to an experienced inspector of something wrong. You need a professional, someone who can look at the house objectively and has experience in building. Someone who knows what to look for, and how to interpret what is found, and who's only interest is in protecting you. And that's where we come in.
About Us
At JM Campbell Inspection Services, we have over 30 combined years of experience in the building trades and insurance industry. We are an independent, family owned and operated company located in Southern Maryland, built on the belief that you, our customer, is the reason we exist. It is therefore our duty to provide you with the best product possible. That means a completely unbiased and thorough inspection or screening, and a written report stating any problems discovered, or lack thereof. We don't claim to be a 'buyers' inspector, or a 'sellers' inspector, we are simply 'your inspector'. Since our inspection is objective, the inspection results will be the same, whether you are the buyer or seller. We work for you, and you alone. You will be the only person receiving the written copy of your inspection, and we will not discuss your inspection with anyone else. We don't assume any preconceived notions about a property, and approach each inspection with our eyes and minds open.
When we made the decision to start inspecting, we also decided to retire from work as remodeling contractors.
We feel it is hard to be completely unbiased if there is a possibility of getting remodeling work through finding faults during an inspection.
So you will never have to worry about our opinions and remarks being clouded by our desire to obtain more work. It simply will not happen.
We are licensed by the State of Maryland, having completed their coursework and testing, and have taken and passed the National Home Inspector Exam. We are members of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors(InterNACHI), and as such, are required to complete continuing education courses to remain current with new codes and discoveries. We regularly supplement these required courses with additional classes and workshops, so as to be as up to date as possible. We participate in regular meetings and symposiums to exchange ideas and knowledge with other inspectors, and subscribe to local and state government websites for updates. We adhere to the strict
InterNACHI Standards of Practice and
Code of Ethics.
We know that we offer the best inspection in the industry, and we back that up.Every inspection we do comes with a 100 day warranty, that covers every system we inspect and rate as performing it's intended function, up to $1000.
Our promise to you:Choosing a home inspector can be a difficult process. Unlike most professions, you will probably not get to meet us before you hire us. And each inspector has his or her own methods, equipment, style, and report paperwork. The one thing we do know is, a thorough inspection takes a bit of time, and a lot of work, and depends mostly on each individual inspectors effort. Our promise to you is this: If you allow us the opportunity to inspect your home, we will give you nothing less than our best effort.
